General Session & Keynote

Monday, Dec. 6, 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

A highlight of the Irrigation Show, the General Session & Keynote provide unique insight into trends impacting the industry, as well as the Irrigation Association’s® ongoing efforts to promote efficient irrigation.

From the Vegas Strip to our supersized bathrooms, from power generation to biofuel production, America's water supply is becoming stretched beyond thin.  Internationally renowned author and expert Robert Glennon predicts that competition for this overlooked resource will worsen before we arrive at a solution.

Drawing from his recent book, Unquenchable: America's Water Crisis and What To Do About It, keynoter Glennon will explain that only hard choices and big changes will allow our water supply to meet the needs of our growing population.

Robert Glennon is the Morris K. Udall professor of law and public policy in the Rogers College of Law ant the University of Arizona.  He is the author of many articles and books, including the acclaimed Water Follies: Groundwater Pumping and the Fate of America's Fresh Waters.

The General Session is open to all attendees and exhibitors, and will include a state-of-the-association report, plus presentation of New Product Contest winners and IA awards.
