New Product Contest Eligibility & Rules

New Product Contest applications are accepted only from companies exhibiting in the upcoming Irrigation Show.

For the 2010 contest:

  • Products must have been introduced to the market between Aug. 30, 2009, and Aug. 31, 2010, to be eligible.
  • Applications will be accepted in four categories: agriculture, golf, specialty and turf/landscape.
  • One entry per category per company is permitted.
  • Submissions are due no later than Oct. 6, 2010.

Once submitted:

  • Applications will be reviewed by a panel of judges to verify they meet the eligibility criteria.
  • Submissions that meet the specified criteria will be entered as finalists in the New Product Contest.
  • IA will notify all exhibitors of the status of their application the week of Oct. 25.
  • Finalists will be assessed a $250 fee per entry.

Products that are accepted as finalists in the New Product Contest will be:

  • Prominently displayed on the Irrigation Show floor.
  • Evaluated by a panel of expert judges based on the written application and a 5-minute Q&A session with the judges.
  • Judged based on innovative qualities, water conservation, ease of use, cost benefits, time savings, design quality and user risk.

One winner in each category will be announced at the General Session at the Irrigation Show. Winners will receive:

  • An award suitable for display.
  • Free publicity to industry media.
  • Customized New Product Contest logo artwork for company marketing.
  • Recognition in the 2010 Irrigation Association Annual Report & Resource Guide.
